Big Cats


Lion


Food source: Hartebeest, Zebra, Thomas Gazelle, Elephant Calf's, Giraffe Calf's, Impala, Wildebeest.
Average number of cubs per birthing: 2-4
Living situation: Pride animals, they live together for the most part but there are some that seek the loner path or are kicked from their pride.

Cheetah


Food source: Thomson Gazelle, Grant Gazelle, Springbok, Impala, the young of Wildebeest and Zebras. Also hares and game birds.  
Average number of cubs per birthing 3-5 and maximum is 8-9 although the most ever has been 8
Living situation:  Females live solitary but often live with their young. Males live in whats called coalitions.


Leopard


Food source: Boars, deer, birds and rodents.
Average number of cubs per birthing: 2-4 cubs per litter.
Living situation: Leopards are solitary cats.




Small Wild Cats


Serval


Food source: Rodents, birds, hares, hyrax, reptiles, insects, fish and frogs. Some catch Deer, Gazelle and Springbok.
Average number of cubs per birthing: 2-3 cubs
Living situation: they live solitary lives


Caracal


Average number of cubs per birthing: 2-3 Cubs
Living situation: Solitary Cats


Black-Footed Cat


Food source: Rodents, small birds, White Quilled Bustard and Cape Hare.
Average number of cubs per birthing: 2-3 cubs
Living situation: Solitary Cats  




Hyaenidae


Hyena


Food source: Birds, lizards, insects, snakes, zebras and gazelles.
Average number of Pups per birthing: 3-9 pups
Living situation: Large numbers called a pack.


Aardwolf


Food source: Termites, birds, lizards, insects.
Average number of Pups per birthing: 3-4 pups
Living situation: Solitary animals.




Canines


African Wild Dog


Food source: Impala, Springbok, Kudu, Thomson Gazelle, Wildebeest, Ostriches, zebras, warthog, giraffes, Giant eland, African Buffalo.
Average number of pups per birthing: 2-8 pups
Living situation: The live in a pack.


Coyote


Food source: They scavenge for food but also hunt hares and other small mammals as well as birds and sometimes reptiles.
Average number of cubs per birthing: 2-10 pups
Living situation: Large packs but tend to venture out on their own.


Jackal


Food source: Sand cats and Jerboas as well as other small mammals, reptiles and birds.
Average number of cubs per birthing: 3-4 pups
Living situation: packs of 10-30 but tend to venture out on their own.




Herbivores


Elephant

Food source: Plants such as, grasses, small plants, bushes, fruit, twigs, tree bark, and roots.  
Average number of Calf's per birthing: 1 sometimes 2.
Living situation: Females live in groups while they interact with loner Males.


Giraffe

Food source: Leaves from trees, grass and some fruit.
Average number of Calf's per birthing: One and two Is very rare.
Living situation: They live in herds.


Zebra

Food source: Grass, shrubs, twigs, bark and leaves  
Average number of Foals per birthing: 1 but twins can sometimes occur.
Living situation: Large herds.




Monkeys


Mandrill Monkey

Food source: Spiders, ants, snails, worms, grasses, herbs, leaves, nuts, bark, tubers, shoots, roots, and fruit.

Average number of Infants per birthing: 1 sometimes in rare cases 2.
Living situation: Live in groups called troops  as large as 200.


Baboon Monkey

Food source: Grass, berries, seeds, pods, blossoms, leaves, roots, bark, sap from a variety of plants.  
Average number of Infants per birthing: 1 though sometimes 2 even three.
Living situation: Can live in troops as large as 50.


Colobus Monkey

Food source: Only Foliage. It's the only thing their body can digest so leaves.
Average number of Infants per birthing: 1 Infant at a time.
Living situation: Troops of about 5-10 animals.
